Passed peacefully away in the loving arms of her family on September 10, 2014, Alice "Rita" Walsh (nee Tucker) - Age 98 years and 9 months, at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex. Our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is welcomed home to be reunited with those gone before her; her parents: Thomas and Mary Ann Tucker; husband Brian (1995); son Gordon (1958), grand-daughter Katie (2006), as well as her brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn and to celebrate her long life, her children: Margaret (John Gushue), Eileen Healey, Thomas (Verna), Patricia (Michael Frampton), Angela (Robert Kieley), Brian (Sheila), Bernadette (Bill Paul), and Marilyn (Raymond Ryan); special grandson Carl (Charmaine); 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Also, a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex (1 West) for their loving and compassionate care provided to our loving mom for the past five years. Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, Conception Harbour, Conception Bay Highway with visitation on Thursday, September 11, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, September 12, 2014, at 10:30am from Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colliers.
