MASON, Bernardine Marie (Bern), January 23, 1954 - August 17, 2021, age 67 years.

Surrounded by love, she peacefully left this world with strength and grace.  A courageous battle with cancer did not weaken her spirit and she will be missed more than words can say.

Predeceased by her Parents: Catherine and John Mason; Sisters: Phyllis, Theresa, and Doreen; Brothers: Dominic (Speed), Maurice, and most recently, just eight months ago, youngest brother Tony; brother-in-law Walter Walsh.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts, her son Scott, her brother John (Juanita); sisters Geraldine Walsh, Hilda (Vince), and Christine (Tony), brother-in-law John Boland, and her loving partner Allan Morgan who is now lost without her.  She is forever loved by a large circle of family and friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friend Carmelann Wall.  She also loved her visits with Al's mother, Evelyn Morgan.  She always had a special place in her heart for Les Cable who always made sure her fridge was stocked with fish, trout and berries.

Bern had a successful career with Operating Engineers Local 793 in Ontario which kept her away from Newfoundland for many years.  She loved the fast pace of the big city, but decided retirement would take her back home, close to Avondale.  She found love and happiness and traded subways and trains for "Sunday" drives and adventures with her favorite sisters and of course Sunday drives can happen on any day of the week.  What times we had.  Laughter and precious memories remain.

A heartfelt thank you to the nurses on 4 South A, Health Science Centre for your outstanding care and surrounding us with kindness during this difficult time.

At Bern's request cremation has taken place.

Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Friday, September 10th, from 2:00pm - 9:00pm.

Funeral Mass will take place from Assumption Church, Avondale, on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, at 2:00pm.

Inurnment will take place at a later date.
