LEWIS, Brendan - It is with great love and sadness that we acknowledge that our dad - Brendan Lewis - has completed his journey in this life at the age of 90, on April 2nd, 2019. Bren (as everyone knew him) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was very active in his community of Colliers including being the first deputy mayor. He spent many years with the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight. Although a quiet man, dad loved his music and enjoyed playing his guitar, piano, accordion, violin and mouth organ for special occasions and for quiet evenings at home with mom.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 66 years Marie (nee Conway); sons: Brendan (Dolores), Gerard (Ros), Andy (Lena), Joe, and John; daughters: Janet, Mary Ann (Roger), and Maria; grandchildren: Danielle (Matt), Brendan, Brad (Jessica), Chris, Leanna (Kyle), Andrew, Marc (Carla), Michael, and Ryan; great-grandchild Lydia; sister Rita Maher (Frank); sister-in-law Genevieve (Jenny) Lewis; brother-in-law Patrick Conway; and all nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Dr. V. Patel and the wonderful staff on 3 Southwest at Pleasant View Towers who provided excellent care for our dad. You have become like family.
Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Thursday, April 4th from 2pm-9pm, and Friday, April 5th from 2pm-9pm.
Funeral Mass will take place from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Colliers, on Saturday, April 6th, 2019, at 11:00am.
