LEWIS, Charles - It is with much sadness that the family of the late Charles (Charlie) Lewis of Colliers announce his passing at the age of 84 years.

Charlie is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine; his parents: Norah and John Lewis; his mother-in-law Mary Fewer who resided with them for a period of time (predeceased father-in-law Nicholas McGrath).

Leaving with a lifetime of loving memories, his children: Charlene (Wade Hillier), Beverly, Mary (Paul Hearn), Kim (Gerard Murray), and Denise (Doug Whittle), and Charlie.  Mourning the best poppy are his grandchildren: Michael, Jeff, Mitch, Alicia, Kayla, Christian, Nicholas, Holly, Brandon, Jessica, Justin, Kristen, Briana, CJ; and the next generation - his great-grandchildren: Kevin, Anna, Cole, Reid, Hunter, Gauge, Jayla, Brooke, Olivia, Ella, Harper, Amelia, Charlee, and especially his little treasure Emily who lived with her precious poppy for most of her life.

Charlie was a lifelong resident of Colliers and was proud of his hometown heritage.  He was a humble, honest man who embodied all the principles of a "salt of the earth" individual - hardworking and totally devoted to his family.  He was happiest when his house was filled with members of each generation of his family.  He was an excellent, caring neighbor to all who knew him and was always ready to lend a helping hand.  He will be greatly missed by his family and his home community.  His family will move forward with their memories of a loving dad, grandfather and great-grandfather to sustain them and the hope that he is now reunited with the love of his life Geraldine for all eternity.

Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour.  Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 26th, from 2:00pm - 9:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at 2:00pm.
