Obituary

McDonald, Dominic William - It is with great sadness that the McDonald family announce the peaceful passing of Dominic McDonald on April 25, 2023, at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre in his 71st year.

Don was predeceased by his parents: William and Edith McDonald; his brothers: John, George, and James; and his nephews: Georgie Connolly, John McDonald Jr., Joe McDonald, and Philip McDonald Jr.  Also, by his brothers-in-law Frank Connolly and Dominic Corbett; and his sister-in-law Bride McDonald.

Leaving to mourn his wife Cecilia; sons: Donny (Nicole), and Terry; daughter Amy Bishop (Robert); and his five precious grand-daughters: Kate, Ava, Stella, Lucy, and Anna Beth.

Also leaving to mourn are his sisters: Mary Corbett and Phoebe Connolly; and his brother Philip McDonald (Catherine); brothers-in-law: Jerome Power (Margaret), and Kevin Power (Rose); and sister-in-law Deborah Allen (Edward); and his nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Wanda, Marie, Paul, Tracie, Tanya, and his friend Jim Whelan.  The support of our neighbours and friends over the past weeks has helped us through this difficult time.

Thank you to Dr. Paul Walsh for his many years of care.  Much appreciation to the Community Health team and to the staff of Medicine Cabinet Pharma Choice for your support and compassion.

Don had a love of music and old cars and was happiest at home.

At Don's request cremation has taken place.

Visitation will take place at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, Sunday, July 30th, from 2:00pm - 9:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, Monday, July 31st, 2023, at 11:00am.

For all those who are unable to attend, the Funeral Mass will be live-streamed by clicking on the (Watch Video) below.

Inurnment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colliers.

When blue skies turn to grey and hide the sun
