CONWAY, Eugene John - Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, December 5, 2014, Eugene John Conway of Conception Harbour (Owner Conway's Flowers) - Age 68 years. Predeceased by his father Richard Conway. Left mourning his loss is his loving wife Shirley Kennedy-Conway; his mother Germaine Conway; and children Sean (Dale), Heather, Richelle, and Erin (Michael); his precious grandchildren: Jesse, Cameron, Amber, Emily, Erica, Karlee, Jenna and Ryder; his sisters: Rose, Alice, Kathleen and Elaine; his brothers: Richard, Austin, Jack, Tom, Ron and Darren, along with their respective families. Also, numerous friends and loved ones. Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Sunday, December 7, from 10am-9pm and Monday, December 8, from 10am-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 10:30am from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Conception Harbour with cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Eugene's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. Eugene was a devoted and loving family man. He cherished time spent with friends, as well as being actively involved in his community, serving as mayor and running politically. Eugene moved home to NL in 1975 and took over the running of the family business, R. Conway & Sons. As an entrepreneur he established "Conway's Flowers" in 1994. Being an avid environmentalist and philanthropist lobbying governmental policies to improve environmental concerns that affected his community and beyond. He impacted the lives of so many and will be greatly missed by family and friends in the community and province wide.
