Francis (Frank) Michael
Gushue
Nov 1, 1949 — May 11, 2026
Conception Harbour
Francis (Frank) Michael Gushue passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife Sheila at home in Bacon Cove as he wished, on Monday, May 11th, 2026 - Age 76 Years.
Predeceased by parents: George and Sarah Gushue; sisters: Josephine, Mary, Agnes, Alice, Noreen and Sarah; brothers: Jack and George.
Leaving to mourn is his wife Sheila; sons: Michael (Sue), Rick (Lori), and Jason (Cammy); grandchildren: Caitlyn, Hunter, Karlee, Julia, and Marley; also, Molly the cat; sisters: Madeline, Catherine, Rose (Rod); brothers: Pat (Laura), Dick (Maude), Gord (Kelly), Bill (Mary), Len (Anne Marie), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Frank was a real family man; as his wife, sons, and grandchildren meant the world to him. Also, his siblings and friends were near and dear to his heart. Frank enjoyed spending time in the shed creating knives and then giving them away to people that liked them.
He enjoyed being with family and friends, but also spending time alone. He enjoyed the simple things in life: checking his garden, watching whales and sunsets.
In the earlier years, Frank and Sheila took a trip to England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. Upon arrival, Frank said he felt like he was at home. This was the best trip he ever took among any travel over the years. He wanted to return someday but his health prevented him from doing so.
Frank was the kind of person who could turn strangers into friends within minutes. Whether through a quick joke, a story told with perfect timing or simply asking someone how they were and truly listening to the answer he made people feel seen and valued. His laughter was familiar and comforting, and his voice - always ready with a story, an opinion or a playful remark - became one of the greatest constants in the lives of those who loved him.
Kindness defined him. He gave it freely, often in quiet ways that mattered most: checking in on others, offering encouragement, making people laugh when they needed it most and never letting anyone feel alone for long. He had a generous heart and a remarkable ability to make ordinary moments memorable.
Frank will be remembered, not only for what he did, but for how he made people feel - welcomed, entertained, cared for and understood. The conversations may have ended, but the echos of his laughter and the memories he created will remain with us always.
Frank leaves behind family, friends, and countless people whose lives are better because they knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, he will also be fondly remembered every time a story is shared, a joke is told or a room fills with the kind of warmth he carried so naturally.
At Frank's request cremation has taken place.
