Gertrude (Liz) Strickland - Loving wife of Jack for 56 years passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 12, 2025, at North Humberland Hill Hospital, Cobourg, Ontario.

Liz was predeceased by her son Billy; parents: Aaron and Suzanna Murphy; siblings: Bill, Mary, Kevin, Ellen, and Cyril; parents-in-law: William and Mae Strickland; brother-in-law Jack Lynch; nephews: Billy Murphy, and Aaron Murphy Jr.

Liz will be dearly missed by her daughter Judy (Ken); granddaughter Stacey Lynn Murphy; great-grandchildren: Adelayde and Ayden; siblings: Aaron, Mercedes, Irene, Jean, and Susie; sisters-in-law: Frances, Lorraine (Allan), and Jacqueline (Jim).  She will also be dearly missed by her best friends in Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador: Randy (Ontario), and Hayes Family (NL); many nieces and nephews, and her great-nephew Louis Gallant Jr., whom she adored.  Also, her fur buddy Teddy.

Inurnment will take place at St. Anne's Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Conception Harbour, Friday, July 17th, 2026, at 11:00am.
