Conception Harbour

Obituary

Janice Eva Conway

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Janice Conway of Conception Harbour passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer on March 13, 2025.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Shirley Olsen; her brother Larry; her in-laws Germaine and Dick Conway; and brothers-in-law Eugene and Darren.

Leaving to mourn her husband of almost 47 years, Jack; her four children, Corinne, Justin, Jack Jr, and Brad; and the center of her universe, her granddaughter, Sadie. Her brothers, Rick, Wayne(Christine), Johnny & sister, Debbie. Her brothers-in-law, Dick(Doreen), Austin(Mary), Tom(Bev), Ron(Lee Ann), and sisters-in-law Rose, Alice, Kathleen(Mark), Elaine, Anna and Shana, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Janice was the heartbeat of our family unit, the one who held us together with endless love and care. She taught us the importance of family and how to cherish our moments together. She was our teacher, protector, greatest supporter, and best friend.

She fought cancer with bravery and courage that words cannot fully capture. From the moment of her diagnosis, she faced it head-on, determined not to let it define her. She never allowed the illness to overshadow her love for us. Instead, she continued to be the pillar of our family, offering her insight, her support, and her unwavering love right to the very end.

As we honour the life of this extraordinary woman, we are reminded of the incredible strength, love, and sense of humor she showed, even in the most challenging of times. Cancer may have taken her from us physically, but it could never take away the love she gave us. We will honor her memory by living each day with the love and strength she showed us and continuing to be the family she worked so hard to build. We miss her more than words can express, but we find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and is at peace.

We want to thank her team at the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and the excellent staff at the L.A. Miller Center palliative care unit. We will always be grateful for your compassion and kindness to our family.

Special thanks to her homecare worker, Roxanne - your compassion, kindness and friendship meant a lot to her.  Thank you to all the people who took the time to visit, it always brightened her days.

Flowers gratefully accepted.
