MURPHY, John A. - Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 20th, John Murphy in his 80th year.

Predeceased by his beloved and devoted wife, Rose of 51 years; parents: Tim and Anne Murphy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Martin (Jean), Mike (Dot), and Will Murphy.

Leaving to mourn are his four children: Kelly (Ralph), John (Sue), Bob (Amanda), and Karen (Terry); seven grandchildren: Christine (Matthew), Daniel, and Michael Walsh; Johnathan (Shayla) Murphy and Daniel (Hailey) Murphy; Julianna and Ethan Murphy; four great-grandchildren: Kane and Nathan Penney; Claire and Corey Murphy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary (Julian) Teixeira, Tim (Lorraine) Murphy, Marg (Val) Corbett, Betty-Anne (Eddy) McCarthy, and Judy Murphy; Deborah Callioux, Mary (Reg) Newman, and Alice (Jimmy) Rowe.  Also, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

Lifelong and respected member of IBEW Local 2330.  Whenever he met anyone, he would ask where they were from and he would know someone from there, across the province and Canada.

He taught his children the importance of hard work, dedication and the true meaning of family.

Visitation will take place at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, on Saturday, June 22nd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00pm; Sunday, June 23rd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

Funeral Mass will take place from Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 2:00pm, with cremation to follow.

Inurnment will take place at a later date.
