SMITH, Joseph Milton - Passed away as he has lived, with quiet dignity, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Health Science Centre, with his devoted wife by his side on Friday, March 8th, 2019, Joseph Milton Smith - Age 77 years of Avondale.

Predeceased by his parents: Milton and Mary Smith; his sisters: Irene Smith, Jenny Keating, and Nellie Brown; brothers: Jim and Tom Smith; as well as his cherished step-son Chris Fewer; and brothers-in-law: Leonard Costello and Stephen Costello.

Leaving to mourn his devoted wife and partner of 50 years Violet (nee Costello); his family: Des Fewer, Stephen Fewer (Anita), Rodney Fewer (Sharlene), and Katie Fewer.  Also, leaving to mourn "Poppy's" grandchildren: Christopher B. (da little feller), Stephen, Jordan, Brandon, Logan, and Madison Fewer, Tommy Moore, and Eric Williams; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Sunday, March 10th, 2019, from 2:00pm-9:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Avondale, on Monday, March 11th, 2019, at 11:00am.

Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery, Avondale.
