Kevin Vincent Whelan

Passed peacefully away at his home in the presence of his wife and family on Friday, April 10th, 2026 at the age of 78 years.

Kevin was a life-time member of the Iron Worker's Local 764, in which he took great pride.  He was also known for his endless jokes and humor.  Kevin loved the many trips to his cabin with family and friends, where you would hear of his many hunting and fishing adventures, along with a song and a drink.  Kevin loved his family and extended family, espcially when he was blessed with his grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents: Michael and Bridget Whelan; his first wife Bernice Costello-Whelan; brothers: Michael (Joyce deceased), John (Marg), George (Ruby), sister: Frances (Bill deceased), and the deceased members of the Whelan Family.

Leaving to mourn with love and fond memories his wife Tilley; son: Randy (Wanda);  daughters: Rhonda (Robert deceased), and Rosalind (Corey); stepdaughter: Francine (Lora); stepson: Francis; granddaughter:  Randilyn Whelan, and grandson: Gabriel Cox;  brother: Bren (Angela), and sister: Patricia (Alonzo deceased); nieces, nephews and their families.

A special thank you to the Staff of the 8th floor Dialysis at Carbonear General Hospital for your kindness.   You were like his second family.  Also, to Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home for your professionalism, guidance and support.

At Kevin's request cremation has taken place.

There will be no visitation or service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin's memory to the Diabetes Association of NL.
