Obituary

GRIFFIN, Margaret - Margaret passed away after a brief illness in her 80th year in Toronto on Sunday, March 13th, 2022, in the presence of her loving daughter Carole.

She was predeceased by her parents: Margaret (McGrath) and Patrick Flaherty, her husband Kevin, her daughter Theresa and her infant daughter Margaret.

Left to mourn her legacy and celebrate her life are her children in Newfoundland and Ontario - Mary Alice (Gerry), John (Valarie), Jeannette (Richard), Carole (Frank), and their families consisting of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She is also remembered by her remaining family in Newfoundland - sisters-in-law Marie Cole and Jean Cahill, brother-in-law Patrick Griffin, and their families.

Margaret was born in Marysvale and moved to Colliers after her marriage to Kevin Griffin where she spent the majority of her life and raised her family.  She was a humble, spiritual woman who, despite her health issues, could always find happiness in a simple life and song and shared a special relationship with her friend Mrs. Annie Flynn.  Margaret spent the last years of her life with her children in Ontario and the last five years at the Simcoe Terrace Retirement Home in Barrie, Ontario.  She eagerly embraced the life of this retirement community and lived peacefully - always maintaining her joyful humour with her signature hearty laugh.

Cremation has taken place as per Margaret's wishes and inurnment will occur on Saturday, July 9th, at the family plot at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colliers, alongside with her cherished daughter Theresa.

May they be united in peace and love for all eternity
