Mary Anita Fagan (nee Devereaux)
June 26, 1938 - April 29, 2026
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 29th, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, St. John’s.
Predeceased by her mother Leonce McGrath and father Richard Devereaux ; her sister Theresa Power ; brother Michael McGrath ; uncle Gregory P. Devereaux ; aunt Mary Helen Doyle and very caring grandmother Anastasia Devereaux.
Leaving to mourn sons Ron (Carolyn), Shawn (Patti), Dave (Ashley); grandchildren Cathy (Lucas) , Jessica (Jose) , Cassie (John) , Logan , Raymond (Carlie) , Peter ; great grandchildren Samuel and Abraham ; sisters Jean (Tony) , Sheila (Derm) , Madonna (Michael) , Anne and brother John (Susan) ; special cousins Jimmy (Inga) , Joan (John) and Alice (Kevin),special friend Iggy Walsh, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A loyal parish member, Anita was always willing to help in any capacity. She was also a very dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 64, and past vice president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Every function she worked at was done with precision and pride. Although usually a very quiet person there were two things that revealed a much more vibrant, excited lady; hockey and curling championships and provincial and federal elections. PC election offices of course! As Uncle Greg’s unpaid secretary, she was involved with everything he was!
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for the care they provided her during her stay there.
