KEATING (nee Moore), Mary - Passed peacefully away at the age of 88, Mary Keating (nee Moore) on June 12, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Predeceased by her parents: James and Kathleen Moore; her sister Mercedes Costello, and brother James Moore.
Leaving to mourn her loving husband Bob; her daughters: Bobbi (Garry), and Christine (Todd); grandchildren: Michael (Heather), Victoria and Danny; her great-grandchildren: Sarah, James and Liam. Also, left to mourn are her sisters: Christina Keating (Jerome), and Alice Healey (Phil); nieces: Sharon Moore and Linda Conway; nephews: George and Brian Costello, Philip and Keith Healey.
Mary was a long standing member of her community growing up in the pool and raising a family just across the water in the harbour. She was a devoted member of St. Anne's Parish and as a dedicated parishioner she served the church fundraising and on the altar. Before starting her family she enjoyed her work as a teacher in a one room school, a memory she often reflected on later in life. Mary loved to dance whether in the kitchen or in a hall. She also loved a good game of cards with her family and friends. Most of all she loved her family either chatting on the phone sitting in her favorite chair, or spending time with her daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren acting as the family matriach.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Melissa Edwards and Jeff Williams of Eastern Health, Holyrood for their excellent care. In addition, we wish to express our heart felt appreciation and gratitude to the palliative care staff of the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre for their devoted and compassionate care during her final weeks.
A special thank you to Father Melvin for his much appreciated visits and prayers.
