Mary Barbara Wade

WADE, Mary Barbara - It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Wade on November 10th, 2025, at the age of 87 years, at Carbonear General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by husband: Christopher Wade (2022); parents: Michael and Rachel Frances Rotchford (nee Murphy), and parents-in-law: Christopher and Ellen Wade (nee Flynn); infant Son: David Christopher Wade; Sister: Linda Power; Brother: Martin Rotchford; Sisters-in-Law: Anna Campbell, Josephine Katz, Agatha Doyle and Jean Wade; Brothers-in-Law: Patrick Wade, Robert Wade, Ned Wade, Bill Wade, Jack Wade, Andy Wade, Robert Power; and Bill Dalton; Nephews: Chad Rotchford and Robert Power Jr.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her loving and precious daughters Yvonne Wade (Cyril Moriarity), and Juanita Wade (Stephen Hayes); Grandchildren: Christopher Wade (Julia) and Taylor Hayes (Mark Corbett); Great Grandchildren: Everly and Mason Wade who she adored; Sisters: Rita Dalton (Bill deceased); Olivera Rotchford (Mike); Patricia Rotchford (Martin Deceased); Carol Ann Rotchford; Brother: Nicholas Rotchford (Ann Rose). All her beautiful nieces and nephews (too many to name). Her beloved companion of 15 years, her fur baby Rocky.

Barbara was the matriarch of our family, the one who held us all together with endless love and care. She taught us the importance of family and how to cherish all our moments together. This was evident during all the family gatherings held at her house.

She had a story for every occasion and memory for every heart. She carried our family's history in her heart and shared it with love and admiration.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU and staff of the 7th floor at Carbonear General Hospital for their kindness and support during mom's illness. Special thanks to her family doctor for many years, Dr. Russell Lake.

Visitation will be held at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, on Thursday, November 13th, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday, November 14th, from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, Avondale.

Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, Conception Harbour.

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a Charity of one's choice in honour of mom's memory.
