GASTLE, Matthew Calvin – April 26th, 1990 – September 23rd, 2025.

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Matthew Calvin Gastle - Age 35 years, who left this world far too soon, September 23rd, 2025, following an accidental fall in Conception Harbour.

Predeceased by his grandparents: Arthur Robert (Bert) Gastle and Kathleen Eleanor Gastle Nee McCluskie.

Leaving to mourn his father: Calvin Basil Gastle of Conception Harbour; mother: Marjorie Lorraine (Rob) McCauley of Kitchener Ontario; sister: Stephanie Christina Collyer (Mike) of New Hamburg; nephew: Sebastian; brothers: Jack McCauley and Nick McCauley.  Also, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, along with many friends and colleagues.

A special thanks goes out to everyone in the community for your thoughts and prayers, and to all the dedicated volunteers who worked so tirelessly.

Matthew loved the outdoors, yard work and hiking on the trails.  As a highly skilled framer in Ontario, he loved to work with his hands and build things.  In April 2025, he chose to come to NFLD to be with his dad, he said "this was the best decision that I ever made", he loved it here!

Cremation has taken place.
