DEVEREAUX, Michael Francis - Passed away peacefully in the presence of family after a long battle with dementia on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, Michael Francis Devereaux - Age 83 years.

Predeceased by his wife Bernice; sister Theresa (John) Skanes; brothers: John (Barbara) Devereaux, and Cornellus (Annie) Devereaux; mother Mary Fitzgerald and father John Devereaux; and nephews: John Devereaux Jr., and Kenneth Skanes.

Leaving to mourn son Keith (Jody); and daughters: Tanya (Jamie), and Tina (Tony); 9 grandchildren: Ashley, Nicole, Dillion, Ryan, Skyler, Kyle, Taylor, Heidi, and Dawson; 7 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Ava, Kylie, Alaya, Avery, Serria, and James; nephews: John Skanes, and Jason Devereaux.

Mickey began his life long dedication to service at the young age of 16, working for the Avondale Railway Station.  He continued his career with the Canadian National Railway (CNR), travelling across Newfoundland's Rails until his retirement at the age of 52, concluding his work in St. John's on South Side Road.

In retirement, Mickey found a new purpose as a school bus driver, quickly becoming a beloved figure to the students he transported, who admired his gentle and quiet nature.  Mickey will be forever remembered for his kindness and unwavering dedication.  He leaves behind a legacy of love and respect, treasured by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Thursday, November 7th, from 10:00am - 9:00pm.

Funeral Mass will take place at Assumption Church, Avondale, Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 11:00am.

Cremation to follow.
