In Loving Memory Nora Gertrude Petten

April 16, 1939 - March 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nora Gertrude Petten on March 7, 2025. Nora passed peacefully at the Northern Lights Regional Health Center in Fort McMurray, AB, surrounded by her family.

Nora was born in Hibb's Cove, Newfoundland on April 16, 1939. Nora wore many hats in her career. She started as a school teacher and when she met her husband George, she became a homemaker, business owner, and bookkeeper. Nora and George were married September 16,1959. They owned G & N Fisheries together.

Nora will be known for her gracefulness, her strong faith in God, and unwaivering love for her family. Throughout her whole life, Nora was most proud of her family.

Nora is survived by her sons Colin (Geraldine) Petten, Craig (Jackie) Petten, daughter, Charlene (Leonard) Elliott, Daughter-in-law Ivy Petten. Her grandchildren Christopher (Kim), Rebecca (Brad), Adam (Lori), Brittany (Mathew), Hannah, Aaron, Daniel, Andrew, Benjamin, Zachary, Abigail, Addison. Her great grandchildren Leo, Harper, Kyla, Kayden, Cassie, Cameron, Connor and Grace. She also leaves behind her siblings Stewart (Violet) Porter, Dave (Nellie) Porter, her many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends.

Nora is predeceased by her husband George, son Carl, parents Frank and Beatrice Porter; siblings Edith (Ross) Young, and Hazel (Jim) Hann.

A service celebrating the life of Nora Petten will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Port De Grave Pentecostal Tabernacle.

She will be resting in the Church Sanctuary of the Pentecostal Tabernacle on Friday, March 14 from 10:00am to 9:00pm.

Flowers greatfully accepted or donations can be made in her memory to the "Next Generation Fund" (brochures available at the church). The Celebration of Life Service will be live streamed through the Port De Grave Pentecostal Tabernacle Facebook page;. https://www.facebook.com/PDGPT
