Passed peacefully away after a short and courageous battle with cancer in the presence of her loving family at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Saturday, November 16th, 2013, Philomena Whelan of Colliers - Age 67 years. Predeceased by her father and mother, Andrew and Dorothy Ryan; her brothers: Paul, Leo and Michael; sisters: Agnes, Nora and Ellen. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Jim of 45 years, son Tony (Chris); and daughter Patti Ann (John); loving and precious grandchildren: Toni Marie, Hannah, and Julie; mother-in-law Margaret Whelan; sisters: Rita, Barbara (Cecil) and Pauline; brother Gerard (Margaret); sisters-in-law: Clara, Bridget and Annie; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Conway's Funeral Home, Conception Harbour with visitation on Sunday, November 17th from 2pm to 9pm and Monday, November 18th from 10am - 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013 at 11:00am from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Colliers.
