Obituary

Theresa (Wade) Penney

Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers on August 20th, 2025.
Predeceased by her husband Edward Penney; parents: William and Anne Wade; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Joseph Wade; nephew: Tommy Walker; parents-in-law: Edward and Ann Penney; other family members and friends, and her special pets: Cricket and Lucky.

Left to mourn niece/sister: Angela; nieces: Eileen, Linda (Barry), Caroline (Tony), Cynthia and Genevieve, and their families; nephews: Kenneth (Thelma) and Brian (Dale) and their families; her special pet Mitsy; special great nieces: Barb Walker and Jessica Butler; special great-great nieces: Grace and Faith Power, and Shelby Walker; her very special home care worker Marg Foley and friends Rose Phillips, Lillian Connors, George and Ann Whelan, Fr. John Costello, Mary B. Costello, Annie Rotchford and Greg Herridge.

Theresa was born unexpectedly, later in life.  She was truly the apple of her mother's and father's eyes, they absolutely loved and adored her.  Throughout her life she was an avid reader and collected a wide variety of books.  Theresa was a great animal lover and provided a great home for many animals throughout her lifetime.

She worked for the Provincial Government for 34 years until she retired. Over the years she did many kind deeds for a lot of people and never wanted recognition.  She was a big believer in forgiveness and would often say "you have to forgive".

Theresa was diagnosed with Dementia and Alzeihmers in 2015.  During that period of time she went through many changes.  Eight of those ten years she remained at home.  The remaining two years she was at Special Care in Pleasantview Towers.  By this time, the culprit named Dementia had ravished her mind and body.  She suffered tremendously.  All loves, wants, hurt, pain and sorrow of this world are gone now.  Another unique light has gone out, for Theresa has come to the end of her journey.  We will miss you Theresa.  Rest in peace.  Love you always.

Special thank you to all staff on 2SW at Pleasantview Towers for the great care given to Theresa over the past two years and especially the last two weeks; Fr. John Costello, family friend of the Wade family since he was a child, who was there for her all the way through and went above and beyond his priestly duties for Theresa and the family; Flaherty's Funeral Home staff for their courteous and professional service; and to each and every one who took the time to visit and spend a little time with her.  All of this is so greatly appreciated.

Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Wednesday, August 27, 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
