DALTON, William Francis – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bill Dalton announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, at the age of 73 years. Bill passed away in his home surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
Predeceased by his parents: Charles and Helen Dalton; parents-in-law: Michael and Rachael (Francis) Rotchford; brother: Raymond Dalton; sisters: Baby Francis and Diane Dalton; sister-in-law Mary Dalton; brothers-in-law: Martin Rotchford, Robert Power, and Chris Wade; special nephews: Chad Rotchford, Robert Power Jr., and Lee Dalton.
Bill leaves to mourn the love of his life for over 52 years, his wife, Rita; his children: Glen, Terry, Lisa, Scott, and Ryan (Melissa); his grandchildren: Brittany (Colin), Coady, Lilly, and Charlie; his great-grandchildren: Mya, Thomas, and Kevin; his brothers: Gene (Elizabeth), Paul (Gerry), Wish, Bob (Betty), Brian (Lorraine), Max (Dana), and Darren (Elizabeth); sisters: Rose (Nick), Laura (Darrel), Celeste, and Michelle (Roger); his sisters-in-law: Barbara , Ann, Linda , Olivera (Mike), and Patricia Rotchford . Special friends: Bill Jackman, Philip McDonald, John Searle, Kevin Connolly, and Francis Murphy. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill was a proud 42-year member of the Ironworkers 764. Through those years Bill travelled the Country making his mark in his trade, and made many lifelong friends along the way. Forever known to his union brothers and sisters as "Wild Bill".
Bill enjoyed life outdoors in his garage fixing, mending and repairing anything he possibly could. He took pride in his home and kept his property looking immaculate. When Bill wasn't outdoors he spent his days with his loving wife Rita and his very special grandchildren Lilly and Charlie.
Bill was a "Jack of all Trades" and will be forever missed as people drive by his home and he isn't out around his fire barrel.
Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will take place from St. Anne's Church, Conception Harbour, Monday, October 2nd, 2023, at 11:00am.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Bill's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
